Expert Watch Repair
The Hampden Watch Company was purchased by Deuber (the watch case manufacturer), in 1888, and both companies moved to Canton, Ohio. Hampden produced high quality watches and introduced the some of the first 16 size, 23 jewel movements made in America. The Deuber-Hampden Watch Company was formally organized in 1923. Previously, the Deuber Watch Case Company and the Hampden Watch Company were separate companies. In 1927, the company went bankrupt and their machinery and tools were sold to the Amtorg Trading Corporation, a trade representation of the Soviet Union in the United States, for $329,000 - eventually moving the operation to Soviet Russia.
